What is a question tag?

A short question /phrases following a sentence is called a question tag . And it is use in the end of sentence. Like isn't it, did you....

Rules
 
The two basic rules about tag questions are: If the statement is negative, the tag must be positive. If the statement is positive the tag must be negative.

  • The sentence and the question tag must be in the same tense
  • If the sentence is positive the question tag must be negative and vice versa
  • Always use pronoun in the question tag.
  • for negative question tag, use the contracted form of "helping verb "and" not" 
Example:- 
     He has analysed the status. Hasn't he ?

Definition the art of reporting the words of a speaker to the other one is called narration. in English we have two types to say any speaker words. 1. Direct speech = word to word 2.
